Ronald J. F. “Ron” Anderson, age 79, of Aurora, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 24, 2017. Although sheltered with love and prayers of his family, he is now safely sheltered in Heaven.
He was born October 23, 1937, in Arenzville, IL, one of nineteen children to John H. and Caroline (Bollhorst) Anderson.
Ron grew up in Arenzville and attended local schools. He worked locally at several places, including at a saw mill for seven years before he came north to Aurora in the 1960’s. Ron continued to find work at a multitude of places including jobs at Barber Green, Naperville Truck and Omar Wonderbread Bakery.
It was in May of 1980 that fate smile on Ron once again. Having been married before with three children, Ron found a woman who stole his heart at first glance. Pam Molitor Hansen had children of her own but found her soulmate in Ron. After a whirlwind courtship, they were married on December 19, 1980. They began their new life and new family together in Aurora where they made many years of memories.
In 1979 Ron began working for the City of Aurora as a mechanic. It would be twenty years before he set down his tools for the last time when he retired in 1999.
Even in retirement Ron’s hands were never idle as he was constantly taking things apart and putting them back together, including race cars that graced the track at Bob-Jo Speedway in Sycamore. When he did put down his wrenches, he enjoyed reading his favorite books from cover to cover, several times over. Dinner time often included his favorite, Popeye’s Chicken and potato salad (or really anything that started with a potato). His smile and gregarious nature made him many friends from all walks of life. Although is tools remain still, his memory continues to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He now leaves his loving wife of 37 years, Pam Anderson; six children: Ronald R. Anderson, Janice Lindley, Daniel Anderson, Michael Hansen, Michele (Chris) Anderson and Amy Pec; seven siblings: Rosy (Bob) Hamm, Ellen Anderson, Davene (Wayne) Miller, Diane (Gary) Barber, Dennis Anderson, Bill Anderson and Tom Anderson; five grandchildren: Molly, Luke, Angel, Amber and Savannah and one great-grandchild Jaina.
He now joins his parents, John and Caroline Anderson: siblings Eunice Anderson, Beverly Campbell, Carolyn Stinson, David Randall and John Randall and half siblings: Andy Howard, Helene Knight, Pauline Vincent, Maxine Loeffler and twins who died at birth.
