RONALD A. "Ron" MOLITOR, age 65, of Elburn, passed away following a long, hard fought battle with Leukemia, which included a Stem-cell transplant. Though he struggled over the years, Ron found everlasting peace on September 17, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. BORN: He was born April 1, 1947, in Aurora, IL, the son of Peter and Myrtle (Jackson) Molitor. EARLY YEARS:At a young age, Ron’s family moved from Aurora to Sugar Grove. He attended local schools and graduated from Kaneland High School with the class of 1966, where he was one of the captains of the football team. The homecoming queen his senior year was Carol Lake and she did more than just catch his eye. MILITARY: Ron’s social life had to be put on hold as he was drafted three months after graduation, into the United States Army where he faithfully served his country. Before his honorable discharge, Ron won a physical fitness award that put him head and shoulders over the rest of his brothers in arms. MARRIAGE: Upon his return to civilian life, Ron married his high school sweetheart on October 19, 1968 in what was then the Sycamore Road Baptist Church, now the Victory Baptist Church. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: The early years of their marriage were spent in Maple Park where began raising a family. A life time of love and friendship filled the walls of their home as they were blessed with three children. In 1999, Ron and Carol moved to Elburn. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:Ron worked in construction for many years, eventually running his own business, Precision Builders, until declining health made him set down his tools. He never retired however; he just "slowed down". Instead of spending his days with Carol traveling, Ron, a farmer at heart, purchased a hog farm, much to Carol’s chagrin. LIFE NOTES: Ron was an avid deer hunter utilizing his farms down south as soon as deer season opened. He also had a passion for riding his John Deere tractor across those same acres of farmland. Family mattered most to Ron and it showed through to his children by everything he did and said. He was an incredible father, grandfather and loving husband who will never be forgotten. SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Carol;Three children:Andrew Molitor, Paul (Laura) Molitor, Lisa (James) White;Five grandchildren:Jacob Molitor, Alyssa Molitor, Sarah Molitor, Avery White and Oakley White;Eight siblings:Peter Molitor, Mary Stenson, Margie Raines, Bob Molitor, Don Molitor, Tom Molitor, Norma Zollers, Pam Anderson;Many nieces, nephews and family of friends. PRECEDED:He is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings: Shirley Thomas and Jim Molitor.VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. A funeral to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, September 20th, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home, with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Rev. Eric Mangek, pastor of the Victory Baptist Church, DeKalb, will officiate with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, DeKalb.
