Rosanne “Rose” J. Morris, age 75 of DeKalb, formally of Elburn, passed away surrounded by the love of her two sons on the morning of Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home in DeKalb.
Rose was born into the world on Monday, July 22, 1942 in Chicago, the daughter of Charles Morris and Angeline Sarley.
Grew up in the city of Chicago and attended catholic schools until moving out to the farm in Elburn. Rose was called to animals; she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was known to bring home stray cats and dogs, etc. Rose enjoyed raising horses and German Shepherds. After her youngest brother Bobby was born, was where Rose first developed the passion of caring for others. She took care of Bobby like he was her own son.
She fell in love at a young age and married Richard Jahns, Sr. and had four children together. They later fell out of love and divorced.
Rose enjoyed being around people, whether she was waitressing or bar tending, she treasured those connections she made with her patrons. Still with the passion of caring for others, Rose took care of anyone in need. It did not matter if they were from her own family or not. She cared for them like her own. Additionally, Rose loved to sing and play her guitar; classic country was her choice of music. Over and above Rose adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Rose lived her life to the fullest. Whether it was caring for someone or serving them a beverage, if they were happy, Rose was happy.
She now leaves behind her two sons: Richard Jahns, Jr. and Monty (Chris (Osman)) Jahns; five grandchildren: Sherri (Dustin) Henning, Ricky III and Rosie Jahns and Matt and Quinn Jahns; one great grandchild: Sydney; one brother: Chet Morris and one sister: Cheryl Morris.
Rose now joins her parents: Charles and Angeline; three siblings: Bobby, Chuck and Dorothy; two daughters: Winessa Jahns and Angela Landmeir; and two grandsons: Ryan and Timothy Lanmeir.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Rose’s life will be held from 2:00-5:00pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Maple Park American Legion.
