ROSE V. STROM, age 97, of Geneva, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles where she had recently made her home. BORN: She was born June 22, 1913, in Batavia, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Hulda (Peterson) Strom. EARLY YEARS:Rose grew up in Batavia until she was seven years old when the family moved to LaFox where her parents began farming. A few years later they moved once more to Garfield Farm. EDUCATION: Rose finished her education when she graduated from St. Charles High School in 1931. .RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: In 1955 Rose moved with her mom to Geneva where she made her home. In later years, declining health brought her into the care of Provena Pine View Care Center. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:Rose worked at the Campana Building in Batavia for several years, as well as a bookkeeper for Production Credit and Feece Oil until her retirement in 1981.MEMBERSHIPS: Rose was a lifelong member and past Sunday School Teacher at Grace Lutheran Church in Lily Lake, IL. LIFE NOTES: Whether it was by plane, train or automobile, Rose loved to travel. Her favorite destinations included Hawaii, Scotland and Sweden but trips with family and friends from church were also high on her list. Rose also volunteered at Delnor Hospital for many years. Quiet times were filled with her imagination as she read any book that caught her eye. Rose also had a gift for memory and was famous for remembering everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries, phone numbers and more. SURVIVORS: She is survived by one sister Doris Turner of Lily Lake, IL,A sister-in-law, Harriet Strom of Geneva, IL,Fourteen nieces, nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED:She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service to celebrate her life, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake, IL. Rev. Ernst Rex, pastor of the church will officiate and interment will follow at Lily Lake Cemetery.MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name to benefit her favorite charities. Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service to celebrate her life, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake, IL. Rev. Ernst Rex, pastor of the church will officiate.

Interment will follow at Lily Lake Cemetery.
