SADIE (Christensen Johnson) IRWINAge 102, passed away peacefully at Pine Acres Care Center, DeKalb, Friday, April 14, 2006. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born April 5, 1904 in DeKalb County, the daughter of Martin and Marie (Madsen) Christensen. Sadie grew up in Maple Park, IL where she graduated from high school and was united in marriage to Arthur Johnson on March 31, 1928. They made their home in the LaFox area for many years and were members of the LaFox Farmer’s Club. Following Arthur’s death in 1950, she worked for a time at the Little Traveller. She met Cyral "Cy" Irwin at a dance where his band was playing. They were married May 31, 1952 and farmed near Seneca for many years. Sadie enjoyed working outside, caring for the farm animals and gardening but she always kept her ties to the Fox Valley and friends in the Tri-Cities and Kaneland Communities. To the very end of her life, she always took pride in her appearance, Sadie was always a "lady". SURVIVORS She is survived by her sister-in-law, Loretta Christensen of Maple Park and many nieces and nephews. In addition she leaves many friends and neighbors, especially in Seneca, who helped her live independently through the later years of her life. PRECEDED Sadie is preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Johnson and Cyral Irwin;eight brothers: Howard, Charles, Albert, Clarence, Elmer, Harold and Marvin and Lester as well as three sisters: Margaret Hellmuth, Erma Johnson and Alice in infancyVISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL, Monday, April 17, 2006 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm with funeral services to follow at 2pm. Rev. Miriam Olson, Conley Outreach Grief Care chaplain, will officiate. Interment will conclude at Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva, IL.MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in her name. Memorials checks may be made to the Sadie Irwin Memorial and mailed in care of P.O.
