Susan Jane Schulze, age 55, of Elgin, was released from her courageous battle with cancer and now claims the promise of her Savior. She had continuous peace and joy knowing she had an eternal life in God’s shelter. BORN: Susan was born the daughter of Reinhardt and Hildegard SchulzeEARLY YEARS:Susan and her family lived on a farm located on Devon Avenue in Elk Grove Village. She attended local schools before the family moved from the area and later went on to graduate from Burlington Central High School. After graduating high school Susan decided to further her education and enrolled in Northern Illinois University. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. RESIDENTIAL HISTORY: Susan lived a number of years in the Bensenville area before moving to Elgin to care for her mother. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY:Over the years Susan held a variety of different positions within the accounting and banking industries. MEMBERSHIPS: Susan was a devoted member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Bensenville where she helped keep records for St. Johannes Cemetery when the cemetery was relocated. After moving to Elgin she became a member of Country Evangelical Covenant Church in Campton Hills.LIFE NOTES: Susan loved to spend countless hours gardening. She was often found working on her flower beds or planting fruit trees. When she was not tending to her garden you could find her on the road, whether it was for business or pleasure. Susan was no stranger to the kitchen and she enjoyed cooking. There was always a passion for her family’s genealogy that she showed through the countless hours spent working with the St. Johannes Cemetery. The love Susan had for her family was like no other. She gave up her VP position with a bank in Chicago to move near her family. All family functions made it to the top of her "to do" list so she wouldn’t miss any precious time with them. VISITATION / FUNERAL Visitation will be held at Country Evangelical Covenant Church on Saturday October 6, 2012 from 10am-12pm. A funeral service celebrating Susan’s life will follow visitation. A private interment will be held on a later date at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Susan’s name to benefit the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois or Country Evangelical Covenant Church: Checks may be made to "Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois or Country Evangelical Covenant Church" and mailed in care of P.O.
