SYLVIA Marie Ferguson LEEage 90, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Aurora home of her daughter, Nancy. Though quietly slipping away through recent weeks, Sylvia "returned" just yesterday, from a "visit" with the Lord. Able to talk and to share memories of the past as well as a vision of heaven, her last days here were all the more precious. Beautiful for a moment, yet quickly fading with the autumn sunset, Sylvia left for the last time, an hour east of midnight, Friday. Surrounded by the love and prayers of family, both near and far, she claimed the Eternal Promise of her Savior and took with her the "forever love" of her dear ones. A woman of few words and firm faith, she penned her own brief obituary long ago. Sylvia Marie Ferguson was born September 6, 1915 in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Anna Rector Ferguson. As many of her generation, she grew up on the farm, a place that forever remained her favorite on earth. She married Claude H. Lee on December 9, 1931 in Peoria, IL and spent forty-one years as the wife of a farm hand in the Kaneville area. They were blessed with seven children Claude D.,Selena A.,Dawn M., Carmen R., Fred "Danny" D., David D., and Nancy E., with whom she lived.Though Sylvia recalled having wanted to be a detective, she wound up working at Dart Container in North Aurora for many years, retiring in 1980 at age 65. Her hands never idle, she enjoyed embroidery and sewing many beautiful things that will long adorn the homes of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed and remembered by them all:Surviving are 6 children.twenty-seven grandchildren;Forty-two great grandchildren, and a number of great great-grandchildren;A sister-in-law in Peoria, IL;And one "spiritual son", Rick Moreno. In her own words, "She joins now her mother, brother and sister, and a daughter, Selena, in the great beyond."
