TRACE “Alex Reed” DAVIDSON

Trace Davidson, aka “Alex Reed”, age 22, of Cortland, passed away tragically following a workplace incident on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Trace was born May 20, 1998, in Naperville, IL, to proud and loving parents, Christian and Sherri (Miller) Davidson.

He grew up in Warrenville for a time before the family moved to Cortland, IL. There he attended local schools and graduated from DeKalb High School with the class of 2016. Before receiving his diploma, Trace made a name for himself on the wrestling team where he excelled all four years of high school.

Trace found work at the Blue Beacon, a commercial truck washing business before moving on to Boise Cascade where he operated heavy machinery. He then spent some time with F.S. Serena before going  back to Boise, but landed with Hueber Feed for the last year and a half.

Trace dedicated much of his money and time into his truck. He was immensely proud of his 2005 Dodge Ram, which was of course, diesel. Trace also looked over and took care of five cows, caring for their needs, morning, noon and night. His father Christian shared his passion for Semi-Truck’s and it was an easy choice for Trace to choose it as his profession. He had a strong work ethic but his dedication to his fellow man, easily outpaced his daily work. Trace gave of himself to anyone in need: family, friend or stranger, he was there no matter the time of day or night. His dreams of building his own “shouse” to house all his passions will have to be left behind, but the memories he made and the impact on others will remain a comfort for years to come.

He is survived by his parents, Christian and Sherri Davidson; paternal grandparents: George “Nick” and Patricia “Pat” Davidson; maternal grandmother: Jean Miller; one brother, Tyler Davidson; a sister, Samantha (Alex Roach) Davidson; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a countryside full of friends, including his best friend, Tony Ramos.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Miller.
