Floy V. Puccetti, age 94, of St. Charles, formerly of Elburn, passed away at her home, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family, Monday, June 22, 2020.

She was born October 27, 1925 in Elgin, IL, the daughter Earnest and Maude (Rowe) Heath.

Floy grew up in Elburn and attended local schools and graduated with the class of 1943.

Within a month of graduation, Floy married her high school sweetheart Robert Peterson on June 19, 1943 in Rochelle, IL. They made their home back Elburn where Floy ran her own beauty shop for 18 years. In November 20, 1974 Robert passed away suddenly and Floy continued to run her beauty shop until her marriage to Raymond Puccetti in May of 1977, when they moved to their present home in St. Charles.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose, St. Charles for many years.

Floy loved to go to lunch with her best friend Angie Morris that would often times only include a few martini’s or Manhattans. She spent many years sailing in Waukegan with the wind in her hair and the sunshine painting the sky with brilliance. They also had a cottage in Lac du Flambeau, WI. She loved being spending time in the water, was an exceptional swimer and never left the water unless she had to. Fishing was also a pastime, and countless hours were spent in anticipation of the next big catch. She loved to chase the horizon in her ‘46 Poniac convertible, making trips to Lake Griswold her kids and memories with every mile. She followed her “sharp shooting” husband Ray to Etna Green in IN to watch target shooting but shopping was always at the top of her list. She loved to play the organ and piano, (rumor has it she was better at the organ) and her talent at crotcheting afghans for all the little blessings born into the family will be cherished for generations. Floy also loved working on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed making “Puccettii Spaghetti” and homade ravioli with her husband Ray closely watching her. If something was ever “over done” (never burnt), it was named “Elburn Style”. When it came to keeping house, she was strict and God forbid if something wasn’t in it’s place. Christmas time brought out her considerable holiday spirit as long as you measured it by the weight and volume of the decorations. Floy’s life was never complete without her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren (not to mention her special kitty “Milo”) whom she loved with all her heart, mind and soul.

She now leaves her husband Raymond Puccetti; Three children, Janice (Jim) Cleary, David (Kathleen) Peterson, and Neil (Lenka Nedvedova) Puccetti; 11 grandchildren: Kathy (Roger) Ackerman, Jessica Peterson, Deborah (Ken) Sopiak, Amy Overhaug, Bethany Overhaug, Sara (James) Nikolai, Jennifer (Steve) Smith, Nicole (Joe) Contreras, and Derik (Sarah) Overhaug, Louisa Puccetti and Nella Puccetti; 17 great-grandchildren: Chad (Allie) Ackerman, Chris Ackerman, Mandi (Jeremy Gerard) Ackerman, Kimberly (Ahsan) Rasul, Michael Boyd, Megan Boyd, Mason Contreras, Caleb Overhaug, Brittany Walker, Ches Olsen, Keegan Overhaug, Rebekah and Elisha Nikolai, Mason Peck, Melody Overhaug, Donovan Guglielmi and Nicholas Guglielmi; 9 great-great grandchildren: Lucas, Owen and Sophie Ackerman, Emma Gerard, Connor, Lucy and Graham Boyd, Brayden Marozik and Brayden Walker; a sister-in-law, Sandra Heath; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She now joins her parents, Earnest and Maude Heath, her husband, Robert Peterson, her son Douglas Peterson, daughter-in-law, Shirley Peterson, a great grandson Brandon Ackerman, nephew John Beardin, niece, Linda Beardin, her brother Roger Heath; sister/brother-in-law Harry and Jeanette Peterson, sister-in-law Emma Masek son-in-law Al Overhaug.
