Waller,age 58, of Sandwich, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, February 15, 2009.BORN: She was born August 31, 1950 the daughter of Alfred and Mariam (Meyer ) Sullivan in Cincinnati, OH. EARLY YEARS:Pam grew up in near Cincinnati for a time and attended local schools. Later her family moved to Florissant, MO and stayed through her junior year in high school. In 1967 they moved once more to Glen Ellyn where she finished out her senior year at St. Francis Catholic H.S. MARRIAGE Pam was married early in life and during that time had two children, Annette in 1971 and Joseph in 1974. In 1979 she was remarried to Stephen Waller in Wheaton, IL. They made their home together in Glen Ellyn where the family grew to include Christina in 1981 and Shaun completed the family in 1984. Later in 1990, the family moved to Aurora. Pam moved once more in 2004 to Sandwich where she has since made her home. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY Throughout her life Pam worked several jobs but never found a career. Instead she focused her energy into her passion which was writing. Romance was her specialty, but she also found time to write poetry and songs. Her first major success came in the late 1990’s when her first book, Treasure My Heart was published. Several novels followed including The Glass Rose, The Ryan Brides, MacLeed’s Bride, and The Walk. MEMBERSHIPS Pam was a proud member of the Romance Writers of America and the International Society of Poets. LIFE NOTES Pam heart was always open to anyone who needed an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on or to help celebrate a victory. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage which was reflected in the research of her genealogy. In earlier years she was fond of making charcoal drawings and later creations featured paintings in water color. Her imagination didn’t stop there as she flexed her artistic flair in various forms including arts and crafts, usually resulting in beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry. As a young woman, Pam took classes to become a beautician. Those lessons served her well over the years as friends and family benefited from her talent. In her spare time, and sometimes a source of inspiration, Pam indulged in romance and fantasy movies, though anything with Johnny Depp was fair game. She also was a collector of Betty Boop nostalgia as well as fairies and angels. If there was a soundtrack to Pam’s life it would have to include her favorite artist Phil Collins and her favorite genre, Celtic music. Pam’s first priority was her family, but she lived for her grandkids. Though she left too soon, Pam’s legacy of love and imagination will be felt for many years and generations to come. In recent months she acquired an interest in Nascar; (her favorite driver was Carl Edwards of the #99 car.)SURVIVORS She now leaves her four children:Annette Pezzute and her children, Anthony, Stephanie, and Nicholas, Joseph Behr and his children Morgan and Joshua, Christina Waller and her son Zachery Clayton and Shaun Waller;Their father/step-father, Stephen H. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow visitation at 8 p.m. Rev. Gary McCann, pastor of New England Congregational Church, Aurora, will officiate.
