Violet Bahr, age 83, of Maple park, IL. Passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday evening, January 18 ,2004, at her home. She was born November 20, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of John and Helen (Onderjak) Balko, Sr. Violet grew up in the Hammond area and attended George Rodgers park High School, graduating with the class of 1938. Following graduation, sheworked as a beautician in Chicago for many years. Violet was united in marriage to Charles Bahr on May 28, 1952, in Chicago. They made their home in the city where Charles was a fireman and Violet continued to work as a beautician. In 1976, they moved to Maple park to live with Violet’s sister, Sue Lowe. Violet found work as a waitress at the Kountry Kitchen in Elburn. Violet served in the Medical Corp of the U.S. Navy. She leaves now one sister, Mayme Weigand of Sebring, FL. And one nephew, Paul Lowe of St. Charles. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; four brothers: Lodi, Edward, William and John Balko, one sister, Sue Lowe and one sister-in-law, Mary Balko
Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM , Wednesday afternoon, January 21,2004, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, Il. The Rev. Dr. Barry Kolb, pastor of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, LaFox, IL will officiate and
