Date of Death

October 21, 2021

William Craft Hansing, age 68, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family.

He was born December 6, 1952, in Bedford, Indiana, to proud and loving parents, Robert and Frances (Craft) Hansing.

Bill grew up in Evansville, IN and attended local schools, graduating from Harrison High School. He furthered his education at Indiana University and the University of Evansville before finding his place in the financial services sector.

Bill was united in marriage to Susan E. Shelton in 1972. Susan answered God’s call to return to his heavenly Kingdom in 2010. Bill was lucky in love again when he met Debra Kambich. They walked down the aisle in 2012.

Bill was the owner of Financial Partners and also worked at Cuna Mutual Group as well as Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance/Plan America.

Bill was instrumental while walking his faith as a member, leader and Children’s Leader at Bible Study Fellowship International from 2002-2021. In addition, he was a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Services and donated his time and heart to the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.

Never one to half-heartedly dabble, William Hansing’s life is remembered for the beautiful outcome when one’s own beliefs are aligned with their passions in life and the lasting impact it leaves on others. He was a man that devoted his life to his beliefs. Beliefs that swayed during challenging times, but never abandoned his heart.

Bill had a firm belief that for 48 years in the financial services industry he made a difference in the lives of his co-workers and clients. He believed that Neil Young was the greatest singer-songwriter in history. He believed that the 1975 Cincinnati Reds were the greatest baseball team ever assembled and that Pete Rose should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

He believed that for 38 years, the marriage he shared with his wife, Susan, and the difficulties they faced together was a true testament to love. He believed in always having time for his sons and his unconditional love for them. He believed that his grandchildren’s laughter was the sweetest sound in the world. He believed in his friends, neighbors, and bible study groups for the community they provided when life had him down.

But of all these beliefs, his strongest was in that of God’s love and grace and the Word of the Lord. For this belief, he finds peace in His Kingdom.

Psalm 73:26

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

He will be missed by his sons: Christopher Craft Hansing (Mary Rahmani), Andrew Edward Hansing, Bradley Jacob Hansing (Abigail Hansing). Bill will be deeply missed by his 8 grandchildren: Lucy Hansing, Holly Hansing, Jackson Hansing, Emmylou Hansing, Everly Hansing, Cameron Rahmani-Hansing, Lillymae Hansing, and Dylan Hansing.
