WILLIAM "Bill" E. SNOW, age 84, of Maple Park, formerly of Geneva, passed away at Delnor Hospital in Geneva in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born July 27, 1929, in Geneva, IL, the son of William H. and Florence (Muelhfelt) Snow. Bill grew up in Geneva and attended local schools. He learned his strong work ethic early as he helped both his parents on the family farm. When he was grown, Bill continued to farm and purchased 80 acres in Geneva. He eventually spent over 25 years as a heavy equipment operator but returned to the fields of his youth before selling those acres and purchasing farms in both Kane and DeKalb counties. He also bought an old farm in Maple Park that once was an ‘airport" boasting of a grassy landing area. His proudest achievement was his home farm on Beith Rd. Although he never married, Bill surrounded himself with family and friends, making sure that they all had a place to kick back, relax and have a lot of fun in Marcell, MN, where he bought a "compound". Ten years of fun left its mark before selling it, but not before thousands of memories were made. His next "compound" was a six mile journey up the Fox River in St. Charles where Bill continued to provide for his family and friends at every opportunity. Bill was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, St. Charles, Lodge 1368, Chapter 512. He also was a retired member of the Local #150 Operators Union, Kane Farm Bureau, and the Kane County Corn Growers. Bill was a hardworking man who was proud of his spotless farm tractors that gleamed the green and yellow of John Deere. Retirement was a dirty word to Bill. He never stopped and could out work men half his age without breaking a sweat or taking a break. Even now, Bill is tending the fields of the Lord, putting the angels to shame and telling them how to do it right. His plowed rows may blow away, but his memory will forever stay in the hearts and minds of his family and friends. One half-sister, Marian Heiser; A brother DeWitt (Angie) Snow; Many nieces, nephews and countryside of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Snow, one sister, Blanche Fender and one half-brother-in law, Don Heiser.
