Edward L. Sak Jr, age 71, of Maple Park, passed away peacefully at his home Monday night after a short battle with cancer. He was enveloped with the love of his family as he made his journey “home”.
Edward was born on October 16, 1943, in Joliet, IL. Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for Burgess Norton in Geneva for over 13 years. He took an early retirement in 1989 for health reasons. Ed is gone from this Earth, but he will never be forgotten.
Edward is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia, his step son Walter Brown, his sister Elaine Brasel, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a countryside of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Angela Sak.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 10am, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5N939 Meredith Road, Virgil, IL 60151. A funeral mass to celebrate his life and faith will be held after visitation, at the church at 11 am, July 9. Interment will follow mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Virgil.
