Frances Mary Sauber, age 95, formerly of St. Charles and Kaneville, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 lovingly surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 7, 1924 in Chicago, IL, to Jack and Anna (Butler) Carroll.
Fran grew up in Chicago in the Eberhart neighborhood and graduated from Mercy High School..
She was united in marriage to Joseph Sauber of Virgil, IL in 1946. They made their first home in Batavia, IL, but soon moved to St. Charles, where she spent most of her life.
After raising her family, Fran began working for UPS where she would spend 20 years. In 1988, moved to Kaneville where she worked behind the counter at Niceley’s Dairy Dream for 16 years. Fran was truly the fashion queen of Kaneville with her well matched clothes, jewelry, shoes and scarves. Every holiday was a reason for her to bring out her “bling”. She was fiercely proud that she worked through her 83rd birthday.
She leaves behind her six children: MaryAnn (Dennis) Niceley, Matt Sauber, Terry (Maggie) Sauber, Joseph Sauber, Carol (Doug) Musser and Johnny (Caron) Sauber; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, Jack and Anna Carroll, husband Joseph, one son Timothy and a brother Joseph Carroll.
Private family services have already been held.
