NAME Donald J. Freeland,age 81, of North Aurora, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital, Aurora. BORN: He was born January 17, 1924 on his family’s farm, the son of Harry and Mattie (Nelson) Freeland in Elburn. EARLY YEARS : Don grew up on the family farm, attended local schools and graduated in 1942 from Elburn High School. Following graduation he continued to work on the farm but later worked for Richard Wilcox Mfg., Aurora, where he retired 1989. MARRIAGE Don was united marriage to Barbara M. Bushnell in November 27, 1970. SURVIVORS He now leaves his loving wife Barbara of North Aurora, Two sisters:Edna Anderson of Batavia, IL and Florence Martin of Winfield, IL;Three children:Janet (Irv) Berlin of Cable, WI,Gary (Beth) Freeland of Somonauk, IL,Richard (Maria) Freeland of Big Rock, IL;Four Step-Children:Stan (Karen) Shestokes of Cobden, IL,Ron (Jan) Shestokes of Torrance, CA, Jean (K.) Mallory of Geneva, IL, And Linda (Bill) Rauch of Geneva, IL;Eleven Grandchildren;Six Great-Grandchildren;Two "Special Grandchildren":Tracey and Audra Masters;And several nieces and nephews and a family of friends. PRECEDED He now joins his parents, Two brothers: Harry and Leonard who preceded him in death. VISITATION / FUNERAL Friends may call from 10-11a.m. with a funeral service to celebrate his life to begin at 11a.m. at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, on Monday, January 16, 2006. Interment will follow the service at Blackberry Cemetery, Elburn. MEMORIAL In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, IL 60119.
