Judith A. SchramerAge 63 of Virgil, Illinois, passed away, Friday, January 12, 2007 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL, where she had recently undergone open heart surgery. BORN / EARLY YEARSShe was born, June 23, 1943 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Harry H. and Anna J. (Vinovich) Kavanaugh.EDUCATIONJudy grew up in Peoria where she graduated from Woodruff High School with the class of 1961.Following high school, she became a surgical technician and worked for a time at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria.MARRIAGE & FAMILYShe met Paul Schramer through mutual friends and on March 20, 1971 they were united in marriage in Peoria, IL. They settled in Virgil and began farming Paul’s family homestead together. OCCUPATION / WORK HISTORY Following Paul’s death in 1995, she remained at the farm where she raised their children and continued farming.LIFE NOTES Multiple times, both before and after Paul’s death, Judith traveled to the Schramer family lands in Germany as well as pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hervegovina and to Kenya, Africa where she supported the building of a mission church. In recent years, she made her home for a time in San Antonio, TX but soon found that, for her, the Mid-West was still "best". MEMBERSHIPSShe was an active member of S.S. Peter & Paul Church, Virgil, where she also served as cemetery sexton for a number of years. SURVIVORS She is survived by three children:Carol Schramer of Virgil, ILMichael Schramer of Elburn and Daniel Schramer, of Cortland;Siblings:One brother, Douglas (Judy) Kavanaugh of Mackinaw, Peoria;One brother-in-law, Kenneth (Laura) Schramer of Barrington, IL eight nieces and nephews:James Schramer of Palatine, IlSusan (Dan) Didier of St. Louis, MOAnne (Matthew) McColgan of Western Springs , ILThomas (Leslie) Schramer of Aspen, CO Tim (Karen) Skaggs of Palatine, ILSteven Kavanaugh andJana Lea (Kevin) Montgomery both of Iowa, andMatthew Kavanaugh of Peoria, IL andMany dear friends. PRECEDED She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Pauland one nephew, Douglas Kavanaugh.MEMORIAL A memorial has been established in Judy’s name for masses and to benefit her favorite charities. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2007 beginning at 3 pm with a rosary service at 3:30 and continuing through 6:30pm wtih a wake service at 7pm. Her funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2006 at 10:30am at S.S. Peter & Paul Church, Virgil, IL. The Rev. Fr. Les Eschevia will officiate.

Interment will follow at S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Meredith Rd. Virgil, IL
