Lester (Les) E. StrobertJanuary 17, 1920–December 3, 2007Les Strobert, 87, of Lexington Health Care Lake Zurich, IL., died peacefully Monday Dec. 3, 2007. Les was born in Kaneville , IL . to Martha and Charles Strobert. He grew up in Kane County , working hard on the family farm until his late teens, when the farm was sold. He went into carpentry work and became an awesome carpenter, electrician and all around mechanical and engineering man. On May 30, 1941 he married Violet M. Walsberg in Paris .(IL). Soon afterward, when war broke out, Les entered the U.S. Army and served proudly with the 1st Division. He was stationed with in Germany and served from July, 1943 to March, 1946. After his discharge, Les and Vi moved to Aurora where his work career began in steel fabrication, welding, and engineering. He started out at Barber Green in Aurora , IL and later worked at Walker Process Equipment (CBI) in Aurora , IL , where he eventually retired. For several years, he and Vi also ran Magnetico Signs in Aurora . After retirement, Les and Vi moved to Mesa , Az. in Jan. 1980. They re-retired then to Kissimmee , Fl. and were starting to build a home in Ocala Fl. when Vi passed away in 1996. Les remained in Ocala , until a stroke forced him be closer to family and he moved to Algonquin, IL. in 2003. Les and Vi had the opportunity to enjoy their love of traveling all over this great and beautiful country in their Airstream trailer, meeting and making many wonderful friends along the way. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Strobert, Crystal Lake , IL . and Terry Strobert, Sandwich , IL. ; Five grandchildren: Tim Jr. (Barbie), of East. Bridgeport , Ma., Traci, of Ocala , Fl., Christopher (Lisa) of Hampshire, IL, Mike of Crystal Lake , IL.and Erik (Michelle), Somonauk , IL. ;Nine great-grandchildren andTwo sisters: Loraine Williams, Geneva , IL . and Joanne Ryan, Elburn , IL . Les was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Sylvia "Ukey" Braidy, one brother, Harley Strobert, and wife Violet Strobert Visitation will held at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL from 1pm until 4 pm, Sunday December 9, 2007, with a service following visitation at 4:30pm. Committal services will conclude Monday morning, Dec. 10 at 11am at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery , Rt. 30, just south of Rt. 34, Aurora , IL A memorial has been established in Lesters\’ name to benefit the National Diabetes Foundation and other favorite charities. Visitation will held at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL from 1pm until 4 pm, Sunday December 9, 2007, with a service following visitation at 4:30pm.

Committal services will be held at 11am, Monday, December 10, 2007 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Rt. 30, just south of Rt. 34, Aurora, ILA memorial has been established in Lesters\’ name to benefit the National Diabetes Foundation and other favorite charities.
