NAME Patricia L. Sanderson age 62 of Earlville passed away suddenly at Mendota Community Hospital on Sunday August 23, 2009. Patricia was born on October 19, 1946 in Chicago, IL the daughter of James B. and Barbara A. (Bailey) Sanderson.Pat grew up in Wasco, IL and attended Wasco Grade school. After graduating from St. Charles High School with the class of 1962, Pat furthered her education on a scholarship to Coe College in Cedar Rapid, IA. Shortly after, she moved to Heidelberg, Germany, and worked for the US Army Judge Advocate General Office. Later, she returned to St. Charles, IL and worked for local lawyers before dedicating seventeen years working for the State of Illinois. Upon her retirement she volunteered for the COPD Foundation that she helped establish. LIFE NOTES Pat was always moving and always doing, especially when it came to winter activities such as cross country skiing, tobogganing , sledding and many more. Summers were full of adventure and filled to capacity with activities like rafting. She was also known for her peculiar (some say "twisted") sense of humor that balanced out the graciousness, sincerity and generosity that spoke volumes of her spirit. MEMBERSHIPSIn her retirement, Pat saw a need for support groups for people with COPD. She was involved in the very early stages of the COPD Foundation and has spent countless hours on the call line, letting others know they are not alone in their struggles. VISITATION / FUNERAL A memorial visitation will be held on Friday August 28 from 4-5:45 with a memorial service to celebrate her life following at 6:00 at Conley Funeral Home 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. The service will also be webcast-live at www.conleycare.com beginning five minutes prior to the service and will later be available as an on-demand video on the website.
