NAME/ AGE Paul A. Sheldon Sr., age 67, of Sugar Grove, passed away following heart complications at Delnor Community Hospital, Monday, June 13, 2005. BORN He was born December 25, 1937, the son of Jack and Alice (Dullinger) Sheldon in Oak Park, IL. CHILDHOOD Paul grew up in Maywood for a time before the family moved to Downers Grove where he attended local schools. MILITARY On February 21, 1955, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country on the U.S.S. Hancock until his honorable discharge on January 25, 1957. Upon his return to civilian life Paul became a jack of all trades, master of none. Through out his life he worked various jobs including owner of gas stations, and a restaurant, as well as a mechanic for GM, and later in life drove truck for freight companies as well as construction sitesMARRIED Paul found love twice early in life, only to be blessed once again when he married Marianne Angell in Aurora on September 1, 1961. The began their new life together in Aurora for time before making a brief stops in Sugar Grove and Florida before returning to Sugar Grove where he had since made his home. Following his divorce, Paul was lucky in love again spending the next twenty years making a life with Ellen Kiesler. MEMBERSHIP Paul was a faithful member of the English Congregational Church, Big Rock, IL as well as a member of the Suburban Teamster Union. LIFE NOTES Not one to stand still for long, Paul spend countless hours in his workshop making award winning furniture, crafts and restoring antiques. On the weekends, he ventured out to auto shows where he would wander among the elite autos restored to their prime. Paul had a passion for cars of all ages and his knowledge was so vast that he loved quizzing owners on various parts that may or may not have been vintage. Among his vast inventory of antiques and antique cars was his pride and joy, a 1970 police issue three wheeled Harley Davidson that he enjoyed riding during his last years. SURVIVORS He now leaves two sons, Paul Sheldon Jr. of Sycamore, Andrew (Ana) Sheldon of Westmont, IL and their mother Marianne Sheldon of Sycamore;Two grandchildren, Brittany and Paul Sheldon of Sycamore; One brother Dave (Carol) Sheldon of Kittery, ME;Several nieces and nephews and a family of friends;And a long time companion Ellen Kiesler of St. Charles, IL. PRECEDED He now joins his parents, two sisters Joyce Hunt and Julie Sheldon who preceded him in death. MEMORIALS In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed in his name to P.O. VISITATION Friends may call at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, Thursday, June 16, from 4-6:30 p.m. with a funeral service to celebrate his life to follow at 7 p.m. Rev. Byron Henn, pastor of the English Congregational Church, Big Rock, will officiate.

Private family interment to follow on Friday.
