Randall "Randy" Long, age 36, of Hinckley, left this world too early, leaving a legacy of memories that will be treasured forever, when he died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 17, 2014.He was born June 29, 1978, in St. Charles, IL, the son of Marilyn (Wilkison) and Clyde Long. He grew up in Sugar Grove, IL, and attended local schools. He graduated from Oswego High School with the class of 1996. Randy was united in marriage to Melissa Gatza in 2002, and they were blessed with a daughter, Madison. Peyton, Melissa’s son, made the family of four complete. Randy and Melissa’s paths would separate in later years but Peyton and Madison never left Randy’s heart. A few years later, Randy would enter the lives of Jennifer Carlino, and her daughter’s, Becca and Sami, who fit perfectly in his heart alongside Madison and Peyton. Randy was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t casting a line or walking through the woods, Randy enjoyed coaching the kids in a variety of sports. NASCAR ruled his television universe, especially when Dale Earnhardt Jr. was at the wheel. The only thing that could eclipse NASCAR, was his beloved Green Bay Packers. His cheering was loud and proud and without apology. The love Randy had for others shone bright his entire life. It was reflected back to him in the eyes of all who knew and loved him. The time he spent on this earth with be treasured and held dear for all time. He is survived by his daughter, Madison;His parents, Marilyn Long and Clyde (Janet) Long;One sister, Missi Lewis;Two half siblings, Greg Long and Rebecca Price;One niece, Brittany Price;A nephew, Andrew Price; Several aunts, uncles, and cousins;And a special "sister" Mandy Doy and her two sons, Jordan and C.J. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Ella Wilkison, paternal grandparents, Bear and Bue Long, his uncle, Lewis Long, his cousin Earl Grant Wilkison, Jr., and his aunt, Linda Kay Long. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. Private family burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Randy’s name. Checks may be made to the "Randall Long Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O.
