Robert P. Anderson, age 82, of Wasco, IL, passed away at home, Thursday, February 16, 2007, following a long illness. With his family around him, he finished his life journey claiming the Promises of his Savior and a "house not made with hands".He was born September 10, 1924, in St. Charles, IL, the son of Harold and Ellen (Peterson) Anderson. He attended Wasco schools and finished his last two years of high school in St. Charles where he graduated in 1941. After high school Bob continued to farm with his dad on the dairy farm. Bob was the first baseman for the Bergland Lumber Company softball team. He invited Dolores Klotz, her brothers and other neighbors to come to the ball games. After a time, it was just Dolores and Bob that went to the game. While Bob was playing ball a love story began and on August, 14, 1948 Bob and Dolores were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Somonauk and made their home on the farm. In time, they built a house where they made their home for nearly sixty years. Bob continued to play ball for a number of years and later coached for the Wasco Little League teams.In 1967, Bob sold the dairy herd and became the Assessor for Campton Twp. and later worked for the Kane County Supervisor, Geneva. He also served as Campton Twp. Supervisor. A man who had many interests and jobs; his hands were busy and his days were full. Bob, Dolores and their children boarded 50 horses for a number of years. Bob worked for a time at The Village Decorator, Geneva; Ace Hardware, Batavia and as janitor at the Lily Lake Grade School. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake, where he served faithfully his whole life through. He was Treasurer for over twenty years, served on the Church Council including a time as Vice-Chairman, was a member of the building committee, sang in the choir for many years and was always a ready hand when help was needed.He and Dolores enjoyed playing cards with the LaFox Farmers Club.He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores of Wasco; four children: Mark (Heidi) Anderson of Burlington, IL (Reid, Christen, Nolan and Nathan); Kirk (Katherine) Anderson of Ames, IA (Ryan, Maria and Isak); Neal (Tracy) Anderson of Wasco, IL (Candice and Keith) and Nancy (Andy) Szychlinski of Sycamore, IL (Sara and Kyle); one sister, Ruth (Melvin) Peterson of St. Charles, IL; a number of nieces and nephews and a lifetime of friends.He is preceded in death by his parents.A memorial has been established in Bob’s name to benefit his church. Friends may call on Sunday, Feb 18 from 2:30-6:30 at Grace Lutheran Church, Lily Lake, Il. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday Feb 19, 2007 at the church at 10:30 AM.

Interment will follow at Garfield Cemetery, St. Charles, Il.
