NAME/ AGE Joseph "Joe" Babus aka "Hunky Joe", age 65, of Maple Park, IL, passed away suddenly Saturday, August, 7, 2004 at his home. BORN Joe was born July 30, 1939 in Budapest, Hungary and attended local schools. In 1956, just prior to the outbreak of social unrest within the country, Joe moved to the United States to join his father. Joe was only in the country a short time before enlisting in the United States Army. After he was honorably discharged in 1956 he returned to civilian life and attended Aurora University where he achieved a degree in drafting. Joe used his education the rest of his life by drafting for several companies in the area including Furnas Electric in Batavia for many years. In recent years he worked at Meijer in St. Charles. SURVIVORS He leaves now his children, Stephanie (Edward) Regelbrugge and their three sons Collin, Hunter, and Nolan, all of Elburn, IL, and Stephen Babus of Monroe Center, IL; And a family of friends. VISITATIONFriends may call at Conley Funeral Home from 4-7p.m., August 11, 2004., with a service to conclude the evening at 7p.m. Monsignor William Clausen, of The Church of St. Mary, Maple Park, will officiate.
Interment will follow Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maple Park.
