Judy K. Jones, age 73, of Streamwood, passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and friends, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, following a fierce battle with cancer. It may have broken her body, but her spirit stayed strong and now lives on in Heaven. She was born July 19, 1943, in Chevrolet, KY, the daughter of Thomas and Gladys (Broyles) Simpson.Judy grew up in Chevrolet and attended local schools. She graduated from Bell County High School with the class of 1961. Following graduation, Judy worked for Kentucky Bell Telephone for several years and later she worked for Illinois Bell as an operator. Ventex Plastics in Itasca and Woodstock Plastics both employed her for a time as a quality control manager. Judy retired in 2005.Judy met the man of her life at a local restaurant and as fate would have it, Joe Jones’s love was on the menu. They were united in marriage on November 10, 1962 in Jonesville, VA. They began their new life together in Melrose Park, IL. They made their home in Stone Park for several years before settling in Streamwood in 1968. Judy had a giving heart and enjoyed giving gifts all throughout the year. She never had what you would call a green thumb, but she excelled at driving Joe a little crazy now and then. Judy loved the challenge of any crossword puzzle she could get her hands on. Joe and Judy also like to travel together, taking trips to Colorado, California, Florida and made memories on their cruise to the Caribbean. The holidays called to her heart like no other and everyday was a holiday when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a constant at all their games but also enjoyed taking them shopping as well. This past year was full of sunshine when she was able to hold her first great-grandchild in her arms. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years, Joe Jones; Two children: Karrian Rosenwinkel and Greg Jones; Two grandchildren: Courtnay Fiedler and Jacob Fiedler; one great-granddaughter, Ava Jo Christianson; many nieces and nephews and a family of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gladys Simpson and two brothers: Gary Simpson and Dan Simpson. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL 60119. A funeral to celebrate her life will begin at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home, Monday, November 14, 2016. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Judy’s name to benefit her favorite charities. Checks may be made to Judy Jones Memorial and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66 Elburn, IL 60119. A funeral to celebrate her life will begin at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home, Monday, November 14, 2016.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL 60119

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
