Robert “Rob” D. Repp, age 52 of Aurora, formerly of Elburn passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 17, 2017 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva.
Rob was born on Friday, December 11, 1964 at St. Charles Hospital in Aurora, IL, the son of of Robert and Lorena (Davison) Repp
Rob grew up in Elburn attending local schools. As a youngster, Rob enjoyed playing baseball with his sisters and neighbor kids. He spent many days riding his mini-bike around the yard with his sister, but when they weren’t riding they were climbing their neighbors pear trees eating the sweet fruit. Rob spent a short time as a boy scout, but long enough for him to learn how to be a helpful and friendly person.
Although Rob did not graduate high school, later he was proud to obtain his GED so he was able to attend DeVry University to earn his mechanics certificate.
At the young age of 19, Rob was introduced through a friend to a woman who would soon be the love of his life. He was united in marriage with Sandra Sloat on September 20, 1984 at the Elburn Community Congregational Church. They enjoyed many evening at Cadillac Ranch dancing the night away. Rob quickly became a father figure to Sandra’s two beautiful girls. They grew to be the light of his life.
If it had wheels, Rob could work on it. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life. Rob first worked for Mike Mooney Chevy for 17 years. He then felt the calling to be his own boss and operated Rob’s Repair. You could call upon Rob with a question about your vehicle and before you were done explaining he knew what the problem was.
With the wind in his hair and the sun on his neck, riding his motorcycle on any length of road trip was his heaven. Automobiles were in his blood Rob loved watching races of any kind. He was always happy, no matter the situation, he would respond with a laugh and a smile. As his step-daughters grew he quickly accepted their friends as his own and would allow them to live with the family. Rob would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He was a great listener and if he was asked to jump, his response was, “How high?” Music was important to him. You could always hear ZZTop, Vince Gill or Alabama blaring out of the speakers of his Goldwing motorcycle.
He leaves behind his two step-daughters; Anndella “Annie” (Josh Bee) Oleson, Faith (Aaron Simpson, Sr.) Oleson, four sisters; Deborah (Gary) Schmidt, Roberta (Charles) Sandberg, Gloria (Bob) Weglarz, Lorraine (David) Hall, six grandchildren; Lexi, Jada and Marcus Bee, Savannah Oleson, Tyler, Aaron Simpson, Jr., many nieces and nephews.
Rob now joins his parents, wife; Sandra, and brother; Bruce.
