Robin Harley, age 73, of Elburn, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.
She was born December 29, 1948, in Aurora, IL, to Robert and Delores Taylor.
Robin grew up in Aurora and attended local schools. She graduated from East Aurora High School.
On November 8th, 1975, Robin was united in marriage to Russell Harley at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Aurora. They made their home on Superior St. in Aurora for fourteen years before moving to Elburn in 1989. Then, in 2002, they moved into the Harley family homestead on Rt. 38. Grief came to call in 2008 with the passing of Russell. Robin would cherish the memories they made and eventually move to their namesake road, Harley, in 2015.
Robin loved to take photos. Whether it was of her family or for the Elburn Herald, Robin had an eye for subject and composition like no other.
She was a proud member of the Elburn American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was happiest when surrounded by them. When they couldn’t be there, she took comfort in the myriad of photographs taken over the years to remind her of all blessings a family can give.
She is survived by four children: Ryan (Rebecca) Harley and their children, Hannah and Samuel; Daniel (Shannan) Harley and their children, Jamie and Alex; Erin (Andy) Giarratano and their daughter Harley; and Krystal Harley and her son, Cameron; and one sister, Cheryl (Rick) LaVigne.
Robin now joins her loving husband Russell in Heaven, along with her parents, Robert and Delores Taylor.
A private family burial will occur at a later date.
